At the very foundation of our Walk/Run, established in 2011, was the acknowledgment that suicide loss survivors needed a place to grieve publicly in the face of stigma and a lack of understanding for their loss. At the same time, we required a place of hope and a celebration of our resilience, shared experiences, and hope that suicide can be prevented. Today, we return to our roots and bring back our tradition of a quiet remembrance as part of the Walk/Run.
Anyone, regardless if they are walking or running, can send pictures of their loved ones for inclusion in our video remembrance. Pictures can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org and include "Remembrance Pictures" in the subject line.
